How to become a CPC certified Medical Coder ?

MEDICAL CODING 

               Medical coding is the process of giving numerical codes to diagnoses and treatments in order to record and track patient data, mostly for the purpose of paying for services and receiving payment from insurance companies.

Additional written tests may ask candidates to demonstrate their knowledge of specific coding questions based on HIPAA rules, CPT codes, and the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) codes. Coding real-world events or transcribing extensive coding examples may be included in practical simulations. Generally speaking, the exam is made up of a mix of written multiple-choice questions, written case study questions, and practical coding simulations. Written tests may ask candidates to demonstrate their understanding of fundamental medical terminology, coding principles, best practices, and reimbursement policies.
